Prophylactic Gastropexy – Large and deep-chested breeds, such as Great Danes, Standard Poodles, German Shepherds, Weimaraners, and Irish Setters, are at increased risk for gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV), commonly known as bloat. A gastropexy permanently attaches the stomach to the body wall, dramatically reducing the risk of the stomach twisting, a life-threatening emergency that requires immediate surgery. This procedure is often performed at the same time as a spay or neuter.
Episioplasty (Vulvoplasty) – Some female dogs have a recessed or juvenile vulva that traps moisture and bacteria, leading to chronic skin irritation and recurrent urinary tract infections. An episioplasty removes excess skin surrounding the vulva, improving airflow and hygiene while reducing the likelihood of recurring infections and inflammation.
Brachycephalic Airway Surgery – Flat-faced breeds such as Bulldogs, French Bulldogs, Pugs, Boston Terriers, and Shih Tzus often experience breathing difficulties due to narrowed nostrils (stenotic nares), elongated soft palates, and other airway abnormalities.
